Hello! I'm Eleanor Rose McDonie, the heart and lens behind Focus on Blessings Photography.   I am based in beautiful Wayne County Ohio. I can also serve Stark and Holmes County.  I've been capturing life's most precious moments for many years with a passion that's rooted in faith and family.

The name "Focus on Blessings" comes from my belief that every photo session is an opportunity to highlight God's creation and the blessings He gives in our lives.  Sometimes it is a family's laughter in a sunlit park, a senior ready for adventure, or a couple's vows under Ohio's stunning skies.

As an affordable Ohio family photographer who is still in the process of building a professional portfolio, I try to offer rates that don't break the bank.  I specialize in natural, heartfelt portraits that feel authentic and timeless.   My sessions are designed for busy families: available evenings and Saturdays, primarily outdoors at local gems like parks and scenic spots around Wayne County and the surrounding areas.

I keep things simple and stress-free; no fancy studios, just genuine connections and high-quality images you'll cherish forever.  If you do need an indoor space, we can always add on a space rental to cover your needs. 

I offer a range of services like fast family sessions and all of the way to full-day wedding coverage, I tailor each experience to your needs, ensuring beautiful results without breaking the bank.

What sets me apart?

Practicality
I love a good traditional family photo.  I treasure snagging real emotion in people's eyes.  I really enjoy having many memories of my own loved ones; I know others do too.  I want to help people capture special moments, but I am not a photographer who is trying to do wild and new things to get attention.  I probably will never do things like photographing people holding fire or use elaborite set ups.  I prefer to capture REAL people who are just enjoying time with one another...and I love using the natural light God gave most of all.  I  do use flash as needed, but simple natural light photography is my favorite.

Frugality
I am an extremely frugal person.  This means I am not trying to upcharge for every little thing.  That type of business drives me nuts.  I offer a fair price for my time, which includes the many hours of editing I do.  But that is it.  I allow people to print their own pics from my digital files, which many photographers do not.  I can offer prints with a  3rd party if you prefer that, as I know some people aren't comfortable with digital files.  However, I am committed to offering the option for you to handle it on your own.  That saves a LOT of money.

Faith
I am a person of deep faith.  I am a born-again Christian and I make no apologies for that and I do not hide it.  If you hire me as a photographer, you are getting the whole me.  This aspect of me makes me very much want to capture what I see as God's blessings in life.  So I hope I can do that for you.

Personality
I am an introvert.  Sometimes this is a drawback, admittedly; however, I am trying to come out of my shell a bit, partly because I love photography so much.  I have had many people tell me they would never know I am introverted, and I appreciate that.  This does mean I am not a bossy photographer at all.  I can and do direct people for photos and poses, and I make suggestions, but I am not intense and loud about it.  I prefer letting people be as natural as possible anyway.

Home  Life
While I am listing this section last, this is my primary focus in life.  I am a full-time homeschool Mama and a homemaker first.  I do photography part-time only.  This is why I am generally not available during the day.  I can make an occasional exception for that, but I don't make that a habit.  My family is always my primary focus.  I do have the unfortunate tendency to have too many hobbies.  I also enjoy sewing and woodwork.  Feel free to check out my Etsy store if you want to see some of my other work.   https://needlesandsaws.etsy.com I also enjoy creating art via drawing and painting as well.  Photography is definitely not the only art that I do, but it is an art that I love.
